Half-Fare tickets are not sold online, but may be purchased onboard the ferry with cash (correct change required) for customers eligible to receive a discount of the FERRY fare.
The following customers are designated as half-fare: Seniors – age 65 and over and Medicare cardholders or Persons with Disabilities. Valid photo identification with proof of age is required for Seniors. Medicare Cardholders must show Medicare card with valid photo identification. Persons with Disabilities must show an HRT Half-Fare ID or HRT ADA Paratransit ID with photo ID. Eligible Half-Fare individuals wishing to receive the Half - Fare discount are encouraged (but not required) to obtain an HRT Half -Fare ID. Youth (17 and under) ride free with a paying adult. Youth (17 and under) unaccompanied by an adult, ride free with a Student Freedom pass. Student Freedom pass applications are available at HRT Customer Service locations and coming soon online at www.gohrt.com/studentfreedom. The application must be completed and signed by the student and parent/legal guardian. Youth (17 and under), who are not accompanied by a paying adult or who do not have a Student Freedom pass, will be required to pay the Half- Fare rate as explained in the preceeding paragraph.
Purchasers of a discounted ticket acknowledge the named ticket holder meets one of the following qualifications: aged 65 and older, Medicare cardholder, Only those who have an HRT Half Fare ID for disability are eligible for the disability discount. Using a fraudulent ticket is punishable as a Class 2 Misdemeanor with a fine of no less than $500. Not valid for HRT bus, light rail, paratransit or any other service. Riders must have proof of a valid fare to board a ferry and be able to demonstrate qualification for the discounted fare when requested. Print a copy of this eticket or be able to display it on your smart phone. Have it in your possession when riding the ferry. The ticket is only valid for the individual named as the attendee. Ticket holder may be required to show fare inspectors a valid photo ID with proof of age and/or qualifying disability.
Retain the eticket while on the FERRY. The eticket is a proof of fare purchase and must be presented to HRT fare enforcement officers, if requested.
